Tell Christy Clark: Save Our VCC

BC politicians are putting Vancouver Community College (VCC) on the chopping block.

Dramatic cuts will hurt vulnerable students most; 52 teachers and support staff just received layoff warnings!

They’ve already started the process -- Speak Out Before it's Too Late!

Government decisions are destroying opportunities for young people to create better futures for themselves & their families. VCC is an important part of our community -- this scheme will hurt students and make Vancouver even less affordable.

Vancouver Community College Works:

For 50 years, VCC has been critical to meeting the diverse career, language, developmental and academic needs of our community. VCC is more affordable than other services (tuition at VCC is half that of BCIT)1 and approximately 22,000 students learn through VCC annually.

If it’s not broken, why fix it? VCC graduates have a 96% employment rate and an excellent reputation with employers. We can’t let them put it on the chopping block.

Vancouver Community College Under Threat:

VCC is under threat from special interests seeking to profit from its destruction. After a series of funding cuts, program closures and meddling from provincial politicians, staff at VCC have raised the alarm.2 The government already sold off ESL programs to private interests.3 If they succeed we can expect this model to be applied to other vital community services across the province.

Would you rather have affordable services or more expensive education?

Christy Clark's government has the ability and responsibility to say no to special interests who want her to gut this important community asset.
